Why I Built ShareDoc

I got screwed on a legal document when I sold my business. The other side, whom I thought I could trust, shut off “track changes” in the Word document we were using to fine tune the details of the sale of my business and removed key elements that were vital to me.

We had been going back and forth for months and it was a 38 page legal document. The vital sentence that was removed in such a way that neither I nor my attorney caught it.

Not until I tried to exercise that portion of the contract did I find out that the other side removed it without alerting all parties. I was so furious and the person who purchased my business gloated that both myself and my attorney missed it.

There was nothing I could do. The documents were signed and I was left without key elements to protect my investment.
